Clothing Drive

January 24, 2012 in Uncategorized

We would just like to inform all of our subscribers that we have begun our clothing drive for the people of Liberia. We are asking all who are able to collect new or gently used clothing and to ship them to the addresses that we have provided below.

The people of Liberia are in serious need of clothing. Some of the peoples’ dress is such that it is humiliating for them and their family to appear in public. So, we felt a sincere need for a clothing drive. We ask that either you ship the clothes directly to Liberia or you may ship them to the U.S address.

For those who prefer to donate money, we ask that you send it via paypal to the paypal address: ganglion35@aol.com. This money will be used soley to provide shipping of clothing and to help fund the Organization. Paypal is a secure way to send funds as they will protect the sender’s fund transfer. In the event you feel that there is a problem with your donation, paypal will hold your funds and refund it if necessary. So, feel comfortable using this payment processor.

To further ensure your donations, we will have a donation page with the amount of each donation and the city and state of the donor. If you would prefer, we will also add your name and picture. We will also be providing access to the use of the funds for those who donate. Finally, we will be sharing pictures and video of the clothing drive. This way our donors will be able to see the people who benefit from their gift.

We are coordinating the clothing drive with Pastor Eric Karbett of:
Burning And Shining Lamp Ministry
PH#: 2315921048
New Georgia Gulf Community
New Georgia Township

.

You may ship your items directly to the church at the above mentioned address or you can ship to:

Africans Speak New Dating Site

January 5, 2012 in Uncategorized

Africans Speak has recently changed agenda. Rather than simply being a social site, we (Africans Speak) are metamorphising into a social/dating site. Although we are still primarily a social site that is concerned with the well being of Africans around the globe, we are now incorporating a dating agenda. We, the moderators of Africans Speak, see it as place where Africans from a variety of geographical background can meet and get to know one another. We are asking current members to upload their pictures and to send out friend requests. To upload a picture simply click the profile link, click change avatar, browse for your picture saved on your computer, then click upload. If the photo is too large just crop it. So, get busy sending out friend requests. By the way, take out the time to visit our primary website: The Heartbeat of Africa. (www.theheartbeatofafrica.com)

Real African Leaders: By Collins Car

December 1, 2011 in Uncategorized

Note: The following is our first post by our volunteer correspondent for http://www.theheartbeatofafrica.com, Bro. Collins Car. In the future we will formally introduce Mr. Car get to know a little more about him and what motivated him to become one of our volunteer correspondent. We wanted to share the perspective of one of the new members of the HeartBeat of Africa family.

The best way to peace for Africa is through unity and understanding. This journey must first began with our leaders. In order for them to lead us towards our destination of peace they must abandon their personal greed and protect our abundant natural resources. If this were to occur, we would not have to fear for war in our sweet Mother Africa. We must ask ourselves: why do we always fight amongst ourselves? This problem of war often brings tears to my eyes because there is no understanding amongst Africans. I say, let there be peace.

The pride of Africa and Africans is based upon our culture and the way we respond to each other. The pride of physical and psychological African heritage are the responsibility of the government. A good government would provide citizens with freedom, liberty, and happiness. As African people, we have endured a lot of tough times with unnecessary events such as war, prosecution, and genocide. As African people, as people that belong to the human race, we are entitled to good government that will protect the people. In the past, many of our African leaders have failed us. We now need real African leaders who care for the people and who are prepared to work on internal problems within our economy so that we can maintain our pride in Africa.

Let’s Talk

November 10, 2011 in Uncategorized

Welcome to “Africans Speak”. I would like to welcome everyone to our new social site. African Speak is the sister site of “The HeartBeat of Africa”. You can find it at: http://www.theheartbeatofafrica.com. Both sites are the brain children of the moderators.

First we ask that you do not leave our site without registering. Although we are in the beginning stages of development, we do not lack goals. So, if you would look to the right you will see a blue link to create an account. Click the link and get started.

A little about us. Both sites (www.theheartbeatofafrica.com and www.africansspeak.com)  were built as a platform by which indigenous Africans and African descendants would be able to unite. The purpose of uniting is multifaceted. One purpose for the sites is to bridge the gap that should now exist between African brothers and sisters globally. We would also like to use this medium as a way to instill a sense of pride in our rich heritage. And finally, we would like to utilize our unity to better serve our people who may be experiencing unimaginable suffering.

Although all of the goals are honorable, the most pressing include establishing a mean by which we can end the suffering of our people. Many of our African family are faced with hunger, poverty, disease, violence, death, and despair. The death and suffer they endure is often times preventable. Personally, I can not rest knowing that somewhere in the world a child is struggling to survive. Or that a mother’s heart is breaking as the life slowly leaves her child’s body. As I heard one man say, it is the biggest sin of our time. I do not know the answers to all of the problems, however, I do believe that together we can find answers and employ change that will save and improve the lives of our people.

So, we ask our subscribers to come on board. We want you to tell others about our site. Share it on facebook and twitter. Ask others to share it as well. We want to begin a dialoge that will lead to life saving changes. Feel free to begin topics that either asks questions or suggests solutions. This site will not be one in which we only have a theoretical discussion of the problem. No, that would be pointless. The ultimate goal is to find practical solutions that can be implemented in a real world situation. But it all begins with a dialogue.
